Payton Klatt began his career with Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers as a law clerk in 2020 and joined the firm full time in 2021 after passing the Bar Exam. Payton has quickly built a reputation for his passion for justice and achieving favorable outcomes. Payton has a strong focus on commercial trucking cases, motor vehicle collisions, and slip and fall incidents.
Born and raised in a Charlotte, North Carolina to parents in the legal field, Payton has always had a strong desire to become a lawyer and help others in need. Payton earned his undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Leadership and a minor in Spanish from Ole Miss. He received his Juris Doctor with the distinction of Cum Laude from University of Louisville. During his time at UofL, Payton competed on the Mock Trial Arbitration Team and was awarded a CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Procedure: Judicial Process.
As a Louisville personal injury lawyer, Payton is licensed to practice throughout Kentucky, including admissions to the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is an active member of numerous legal organizations which focus on the civil justice system, including the American Association for Justice, Kentucky Justice Association, and Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Payton was recently selected by his peers to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.
Outside of the courtroom, Payton is an avid golfer and fly fisherman who enjoys spending weekends on the golf course and in nature to unwind and recharge. Payton is a devoted family man, cherishing moments spent with his wife and their beloved labrador retriever. Payton is also a huge sports fan and a proud supporter of Ole Miss football, basketball and baseball.
