Trent Burns

Bio

Trent Burns is an attorney at Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers. His practice covers car and truck crashes, premises liability, and insurance coverage litigation.

Before joining the firm, Trent spent years at two defense firms handling complex civil litigation, including automotive products liability, common carrier defense, asbestos, municipal liability, and medical malpractice. His clients were large corporations and insurance companies. Now he represents the people on the other side of those cases.

That background drives his coverage work. Trent knows how insurers read their own policies and how they build a denial, and he knows where those positions tend to break down. When a carrier refuses to accept that its policy applies, he litigates the coverage question.

Trent competed in Bellarmine University’s nationally recognized mock trial program and earned his undergraduate degree there. At the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, he earned the highest grade in his class in Trial Practice.

He lives in Oldham County, where he grew up, and serves on the board of directors of Wednesday’s Child, a nonprofit that connects abused and neglected children with permanent families.

Trent is an avid golfer who also hunts and fishes. He spends his free time with his wife, their two daughters, and their dogs, Jack, Emmy, and Bogey, and he follows Bellarmine Knights basketball and the Indiana Pacers.
