Breonna Taylor Family, $12,000,000
In September 2020, the City of Louisville agreed to a $12,000,000 settlement that also changed how Louisville Metro Police approve and carry out search warrants. Sam Aguiar served as lead counsel with Lonita Baker as co-counsel.

Ta’Neasha Chappell, $5,600,000
In October 2025, Jackson County, Indiana agreed to a $5,600,000 settlement after Ta’Neasha Chappell died in its jail in 2021. Sam Aguiar filed the lawsuit in 2021 for her family.

Rowan County Schools, $3,000,000
In February 2026, Rowan County Schools agreed to pay $3,000,000 to settle a former student’s abuse lawsuit against the district. Jon Hollan of our firm was one of her attorneys.
