Sara Collins

Bio

Sara Collins has practiced law for more than 20 years and joined Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers in 2021. Her work centers on complex litigation, wrongful death, and civil rights cases, and she also handles appeals.

She grew up in Pikeville, graduated cum laude from Georgetown College, and earned her law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2004.

Sara began her career as a felony prosecutor in the Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. In 2012 she moved into complex civil litigation, first on the defense side and then representing injured people.

She is admitted in Kentucky, the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the Southern District of Indiana, and the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. She is a published legal writer and speaks to organizations, colleges, and universities on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and civil rights.

Her path from prosecutor to defense attorney to plaintiff’s lawyer means she knows how the other side builds a case, and she uses that to build stronger cases for her clients.

Sara is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Louisville Urban League, and she belongs to Middletown Christian Church.
