Sara Collins

 

Sara Collins is an attorney from Pikeville, Kentucky, with two decades of experience and a passion for seeking justice and advocating for the rights of others. Graduating cum laude from Georgetown College, Sara pursued her legal education at the University of Kentucky College of Law, obtaining her degree in 2004.

Sara began her legal career as a felony prosecutor at the Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, where she honed her skills as a litigator and developed a deep understanding of the intricacies of the criminal justice system.

In 2012, Sara transitioned her practice to focus on complex civil litigation, first as a defense attorney and then representing plaintiffs in private practice. Her commitment to pursuing justice extends beyond the trial phase, as she is also a skilled appellate advocate adept at navigating the complexities of the appellate process. Sara is also a published legal writer and a frequent speaker, lending her expertise to organizations, colleges, and universities on issues ranging from domestic violence and sexual abuse to civil rights.

Sara’s approach to her practice is informed by a deep understanding of trauma, making her a compassionate and effective advocate for her clients. She joined Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers in 2021, where her practice remains focused on complex litigation, wrongful death, and civil rights claims.

Sara is admitted to practice in Kentucky state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the Southern District of Indiana. She is also admitted to practice in the 6th and 7th Circuits of the United States Court of Appeals. Sara is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Justice Association, American Association for Justice, and Louisville Urban League. She is also a member of Middletown Christian Church.
