Giving Back on and off the Court

Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers Donates $5,000 to the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center

On March 8, 2025, we had the honor of standing midcourt at the University of Louisville men’s basketball game against Stanford.

This time, it was not just as proud fans, but as proud community partners.

During halftime, we presented a $5,000 donation to the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

This facility and those behind it represent much more than sports.

We were humbled to share that moment with Sadiqa Reynolds, the powerhouse and pioneer behind this transformative space.

Our law firm is committed to more than legal victories. We’re here for the people of Louisville.

And when we say “community,” we mean everyone. That’s why being a corporate partner of the University of Louisville Athletics isn’t just about logos and sponsorships. It’s about using that partnership to make a real impact.

Earlier this season, we sent 2,222 fans to the Louisville vs. Virginia game, free of charge, helping the KFC Yum! Center hit its highest attendance since 2021.

In 2024, we teamed up with the UofL Athletics Department to feed nearly 1,000 individuals at Thanksgiving, giving away nearly 200 turkeys and meal baskets.

These moments define us just as much as courtroom wins do.

Why Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center Matters

The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is more than a facility located in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood. It’s a symbol of progress, empowerment, and community rebirth.

Built on a once-abandoned brownfield, it now serves as a national hub for track and field events and other activities.

The center includes:

One of only eight banked indoor tracks in the U.S.

A 24-acre campus for local and national athletic competitions

A family fun zone with mini-bowling and a rock-climbing wall

Educational and wellness programming that empowers the Louisville community

The center is a key part of the Louisville Urban League’s mission to drive economic opportunity, eliminate racial disparities, and elevate lives in our city.

Its success brings economic growth, supports Black-owned businesses, and fuels generational wealth in our West End.

Honoring a Visionary: Sadiqa Reynolds

It’s impossible to talk about this facility without honoring the trailblazer behind it.

Sadiqa Reynolds, former president of the Louisville Urban League and current CEO of the Perception Institute, has dedicated her life to justice, equity, and opportunity.

From becoming the first African American woman to clerk for the Kentucky Supreme Court to earning national awards for her advocacy, she’s the kind of leader who changes landscapes.

Literally and figuratively.

Her vision for the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center was bold: a state-of-the-art athletic and community facility that would uplift and transform the lives of the people it serves.

And she made it happen.

Investing in Louisville, Because It’s Home

At Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers, we don’t just operate in Louisville.

We live here, we raise our families here, and we give back here.

Whether helping injury victims get life-changing results or filling the stands at a Cards game, our mission stays the same: to treat people like family and give more than we take.

This $5,000 donation to the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is a small piece of a much bigger promise.

One we’ll continue to uphold on the court, in the courtroom, and everywhere in between.
