Terry Goodspeed

Bio

Terry Goodspeed is a Senior Attorney at Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers. In 18 years of practice, he has recovered more than $100 million for injured people in Kentucky and Indiana.

A former NCAA Division I athlete, Terry prepares every case as if it is going to trial. Insurance carriers know that about his files, and it shows in what they pay. When a carrier won’t pay what a case is worth, he is ready to try it.

He has tried motor vehicle, trucking, and motorcycle cases to verdict across the Commonwealth and has a long record of holding large corporate defendants accountable.

Terry grew up in Northern Indiana. He graduated with honors from Ball State University, where he ran on the NCAA Division I varsity cross-country and track teams. After college he joined Teach For America and taught in the Mississippi Delta, one of the most underserved school districts in the country. That experience shaped how he looks after the people who depend on him.

He earned his law degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He is admitted in Kentucky and Indiana, the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the Sixth Circuit.

Before joining Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers in 2013, Terry practiced at both large and small firms, handling wrongful death, commercial trucking, animal attack, premises liability, and motor vehicle cases. He and Sam worked together before the firm, and Terry has now been with it for more than a decade. Over his career he has represented thousands of clients.

His practice centers on car crashes, premises liability, and catastrophic injuries, including wrongful death. Those are the cases where the losses are largest and the preparation matters most.

Terry and his team consistently lead the Louisville office in settlement amounts recovered, repeat clients, and unsolicited online reviews. Attorneys across Kentucky and Indiana send him cases for their own families and friends.

Terry is still an avid runner and placed third in the Pure Tap 5K in Louisville in 2024. Away from the office, he spends his time with his wife and son.
