About Payton

Payton Klatt began his career with Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers as a law clerk in 2020 and joined the firm full-time in 2021 after passing the Bar Exam. Payton has quickly built a reputation for his passion for results and achieving favorable outcomes. He strongly focuses on commercial trucking cases, motor vehicle collisions, and slip-and-fall incidents.

Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, to parents in the legal field, Payton has always wanted to become a lawyer and help others in need. His upbringing instilled a deep sense of responsibility and a commitment to standing up for those who have been wronged.

Education

Payton earned his undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Leadership with a minor in Spanish from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He received his Juris Doctor with the distinction of Cum Laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

While at UofL, Payton competed on the Mock Trial Arbitration Team and was awarded a CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Procedure: Judicial Process.

Experience & Approach

As a personal injury lawyer, Payton is licensed to practice throughout Kentucky, including admissions to the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is an active member of numerous legal organizations focusing on the civil results system, including the American Association for results, the Kentucky results Association, and the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.

Payton was recently selected by his peers for the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 and Super Lawyers Rising Stars , recognitions that reflect his dedication and the respect he has earned early in his career.

Personal

Outside of the courtroom, Payton is an avid golfer and fly fisherman who enjoys spending weekends on the golf course and in nature to unwind and recharge. Payton is a devoted family man, cherishing moments spent with his wife, his young child, and their beloved Labrador retriever. He is also a huge sports fan and a proud supporter of Ole Miss football, basketball, and baseball.
