Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers Packs 700 Meals at Dare to Care
On May 20, 2026, the Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers team spent the day at Dare to Care Food Bank in Louisville, packing more than 700 meals and donating $2,000. The food bank day is part of the firm’s Sam Cares work in Louisville and Lexington.
Community Kitchen Volunteer Shift
Dare to Care makes its meals every day in the Community Kitchen. The food goes to kids in after-school programs and seniors across 13 counties in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Our team prepped ingredients, packed single-serve meals, and staged food for delivery that same afternoon. The chef running our line kept count of meals per tray, trays per shift, and how many sites got food before dinner.
Meals Funded by the $2,000 Donation
A $2,000 gift to Dare to Care funds about 4,000 meals, because every dollar provides two meals. Dare to Care buys in bulk, rescues food that would otherwise be thrown out, and moves it with its own trucks. At the same rate, a $25 gift provides about 50 meals, a $100 gift about 200, and a $500 gift about 1,000.

Food Insecurity in Kentuckiana
One in five kids in Kentuckiana does not always have enough to eat, and one in seven adults are in the same spot. When school lets out for summer, school meals stop, and Dare to Care feeds more than 2,000 people a day during those months.
These families live in the same Louisville neighborhoods many of our car accident clients come from.
Ways to Support Dare to Care
Dare to Care accepts support in three forms:
- Giving. A gift on the Dare to Care donation page feeds two people per dollar.
- Volunteering. A group of six to ten people can pack hundreds of meals in one afternoon through the volunteer program.
- Workplace food drives. A dollar from every worker at a mid-size Louisville business feeds hundreds of families.
Sam Cares Funding
Sam Cares is funded by the firm’s contingency fee earnings from injury cases. A share of every case the firm wins flows back into Louisville and Lexington through the program.
This food bank day is one piece of a larger year of giving, which also included a $5,000 gift to the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. Thanks to the Dare to Care staff and the chef who ran our line.
