Ford Truck Gauge Recall
Inaccurate Ford Gauge Readings
The Ford truck speedometer recall covers selected F-Series trucks whose analog speedometer or tachometer needles may stick or move erratically. The inaccurate gauge readings may leave a driver without an accurate display of vehicle speed. Recall 26V653, Ford campaign 26C46, covers selected 2025–2026 Super Duty vehicles, 2026 F-150 trucks and one 2026 F-750. It does not cover every truck with those model names.
Instrument Cluster Replacement
The remedy is replacement of the suspect instrument cluster, the dashboard assembly that contains the gauges. Supplier process deficiencies caused the condition, although the precise nature of those deficiencies remained incompletely understood in the chronology. Drivers whose clusters also have a digital speed display may notice conflicting readings. The actual equipment and condition need identification before treating either reading as accurate.

Planned Owner Notifications
The October 6 filing schedules interim owner notices for October 26–30 and remedy notices for December 7–11, 2026. These are planned mailings, not confirmation that parts are available or a particular vehicle has been repaired. Owners should obtain current vehicle-specific arrangements from Ford or a dealer.
Speed Evidence After an Accident
A dashboard photograph, the driver’s recollection and recorded vehicle speed may describe different information. Vehicle speed reconstruction should establish what the gauge displayed, how the truck was moving and whether the condition affected the driver’s actions. Dashcam recordings may provide another part of the sequence. Any electronic speed data must be interpreted according to the system that recorded it; its availability cannot be assumed for every affected truck.
VIN Checks for Ford Trucks
Check the vehicle through NHTSA’s VIN recall lookup and obtain the repair history. The installed cluster and its service history determine whether the recalled condition is relevant to the speed analysis. A recall identifies a potential condition in a defined population; the truck and accident evidence still require individual examination.
Injuries Involving a Truck Gauge Failure
The dashboard reading and the truck’s actual speed may need separate examination after an accident. If you suffered serious injuries, our vehicle accident lawyers can review your case and the available vehicle records. Start with a free case review.
