Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers Establishes $150,000 Scholarship for First-Generation Brandeis Law Students

Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers has donated $150,000 to the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, creating two multi-year scholarships for first-generation law students. The gift is part of the firm’s Sam Cares community giving program.

Two Full-Tuition Scholarships for First-Generation Students

Each scholarship covers full tuition over three years. The law school will select the recipients, who will begin in the Fall 2026 semester.

First-Generation Attorneys at Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers

Sam Aguiar is one of 11 first-generation attorneys at the firm, and eight of them graduated from Brandeis Law. The full roster is on the firm’s team page.

“We are fortunate to be in a position to do this,” said Sam Aguiar. “All of our attorneys are first-generation professionals, and eight of us are Brandeis Law graduates who are here because the school took a chance on us. This scholarship is our team’s way of creating that same opportunity for others. We look forward to meeting the recipients and know they will be set up to succeed at the University of Louisville.”

Recipient Announcement Before Fall 2026

The Brandeis School of Law will announce both scholarship recipients ahead of the Fall 2026 semester.

“Talented students from all backgrounds should have the opportunity to pursue a legal education,” said Dean Melanie B. Jacobs. “We are incredibly grateful to Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers for their generosity and for investing in Brandeis Law students who will go on to make a meaningful difference in their communities and the legal profession.”
